TCS ILP Trivendrum

This post regarding to TCS ILP TRIVENDRUM. And I am sharing some stuff like Route map, salary, food facilities, parties, leaves, accommodation, advantages and disadvantages.
The purpose of putting this topic on ink is that, as a result of there was no such additional info offered at the time of joining, I hope it's going to help somebody who has to understand it and are somewhat lazy to stay mailing or is also even back to raise the authorities every and each detail.
You had a lot of company at central over there and you took taxis route to Techno Park. 

How can you reach from Trivendrum railway station to your ILP center ???

It’s a 14 km drive from central Trivandrum. Kerela is full of backwaters and it would be a pleasant journey. The environment is persistent (Remains all most some throughout the year). It is closed to metropolitan city Chennai so there is no problem going airways. Trivendrum too offered domestic airport. 

How much salary will you get in TCS !!!

As, I have been already discussed at this topic. So, I am not describing here too much. I am just giving you an overview of this.

As freshers , you will get 17771 during ILP Training and after completion, it will be 23k. 

On an average,

After 1 year -Rs 25000 ( if you have joined in between June to December )

After 1 year - Rs 27000 ( if you have joined in between January to March )

* The above difference is because of the final anniversary appraisal !!

After 2 years our designation - Systems Engineer and you will get approx 30k.

Leaves during your ILP and JOB

Few things I would like to share, there is no leave allowed in TCS during ILP. Maximum you can avail sick leave without permission but after then you have to apply for sick leave with some hearings from Admin and HR. If you are absent for two consecutive days you have to give medical certificate also. Most importantly if you are absent for three consecutive days your learning group will be changed to the learning group of same stream which is following your group there. Yes, you are guessing right.

But those are not interested to know full details about it. just go through my next 2 lines..

Earned leaves:- 16 days

Casual leaves:- 7 days

Sick leaves:- 10 days

Loan facility for you

Loan facility is also available for all of you guys. So, don't worry about it. But you take 30k only for your house rent at zero percentage from TCS i.e. known as PAGADI or ADVANCE. But, It should be paid with in 1 year.

Food facility for you

Forget the food bcos its so poor.. You are sure to lose more than a couple of kilos...

Only the pineapple juice is worth your penny. So,
Here I am about to offer you all a quick plan wherever you'll be able to avail food at negotiable and simply expendable.

1) Food Court accessible in TEJASWANI building close to CLC .Those who will l get their training in CLC has a better choice going there. You will realize DOMINO’s, Khana Khazana, SUBWAY etc wherever you'll have food of your choice.

2) There are 2 canteens of TCS in each building and foods are offered at affordable price however I can't say you may like it. Eating there was no choice case on behalf of me.

3) People who get their hotels in Kulathoor region, you have SP bakery which can save your life. Maggy, cakes, omlet etc. are out there.  

4) Outside TCS peepul Park, you can realize ARYAAS wherever you'll eat all kinds of food.

5) DELHI DARBAR is additionally a really sensible possibility that you may realize outside TCS. It's within a lane you may need to raise folks outside TCS peepul Park. But I know, you will surely find it.

Accommodation

Ok! thus what this really is for those that did not really need to land here looking searching, this can be a Hostel built by Tata Consultancy Services Ltd. in Trivandrum, Kerala for the new recruits who come back for his or her Initial Learning Program (ILP) in Trivandrum.

Coming to the main point, this can be one of the most effective hostels they need, and nearer to Peepul Park if your ILP is being control there.The rooms are decent over there and it’s a very calm place... Most importantly the labs are very nearby and you can access them when ever u wish (24*7*365.. thats how the ILP head put it!!!)... 

1) Rooms are well supplied with basic provisions like Bedding, Bed sheet, Pillow (with cover), bucket, mug etc and are spacious enough with windows to let some air in. 

Moreover your bed sheets, towels are replaced twice every week a minimum of. The bathroom is attached for every room (accommodating 2 persons) with a working shower.

2) Power backup is out there.

3) A provisional store is there close to the hostel entrance that carries everything, yes I mean everything, that you simply would like throughout your keep there, as well as Tata Docomo cellphone connection at special rates.

4) A small documentation shop cum cyber restaurant is additionally there.

5) However if you're a lover of southern dishes you will appreciate it.

6) Near the mess you'll be able to realize television room along side the table tennis and carrom-board table.

7) A laundry man visits each other day thus you wish not worry for your clothes.

8) Elevator is there just in case you were unlucky to get a room on top floor i.e. 4th.

(This is around 2-3 kms from Hostel). 

On the manner you may come across the Technopark campus entrance wherever you'll be able to hang around for Subway, Baskin Robbins etc. along side Ojus Hospital (in case) and SBI Bank ATM, a long way before the Kazhakottam junction there's a Punjabi Dhabha on right aspect of road if you like that.

Dress Code for you

Monday to Thursday is formal day (You have to wear formal shirt and trouser), 

Friday was casual day (You can wear jeans and collared t-shirt),

Wednesday was the Tie day (Everyone must wear tie that day). 

No work on Saturday and Sunday. 

Yuppie!!! You can use to enjoy these two days most in ILP.

Fit for Life

The best part of TCS has a nice program called Fit for Life. Skilled trainers take care of your body. You have to do some running and stretching of muscles. For every kilometer you run, TCS donates 10 rupees to charity. Hopefully, You will be glad that you can also donate to charity indirectly now added to improvement in your physical health.

Entertainment for you

Besides chat... TCS gives another option in entertainment zone in its portal for its employee... Solve sudoku, crosswords, organize online quizzes across TCS network, challenge your friend in quiz, get points, organize hangout with friends, check your programming skills and much more!!!

TCS internal portal ultimate is pretty good... Never faced problem anytime regarding overload or like... They must have distributed its load across various servers in different centers... And in case of next step its just opposite it seems...

LinkedIn is the only social networking site which we can access from TCS... or be it other company... means even you can't access your gmail... This shows the importance of networking... As in a group we are getting joining and posting in different places... So we can grow our networking by adding each other from now.... So keep inviting each other on LinkedIn...

My frnd used to take lunch, snacks and dinner together. I am sure that you were more like a family those days. 

TCS finally launches its chat application in its portal and it is working just great and will love to see u and chat with you all online every time... So just chill and enjoy your every day.

The most important stuff of this ILP

"Fear of Remedial and LAP throughout"

If you are thinking that you will be able to complete the training casually without any hard work then sorry you have chosen the wrong company. The tech lead after covering the topics day by day takes tests in the regular interval but the good thing is he/she will inform you about these tests probably one or two days ago. But the most dangerous is the remedial test and LAP. After the completion of technical classes for about 10 days there is a chances of surprise tests anytime. Some 8-10 people will be selected from your batch randomly and in the test if will not perform up to a certain level then you will be pushed into remedial category and in that case you have to devote extra time with your techLead to improve your technical skill. Generally there are 3-4 surprise remedial test in the ILP but the most dangerous was the last which happened normally on 55th working day if i am not wrong. If you will not perform up to a certain level in this test then your ILP stay will be extended to 10 more days so that your technical skill gets improved. Again you have to work hard on your technical topics with your techLead. This is called LAP condition.

The Project Work

After some days you will be divided into group of 5/6 people for doing a project. Normally the batch is divided into 6 groups. These 6 groups is further divided into 2 teams consisting of 3 groups each. Common project is given to both teams and the project is divided into three modules say 1 , 2 and 3. If group A in team 1 is doing the implementation of module 1 then he will do testing of module 2 and maintenance of module 3. You needed to give some presentation about the development status of the project and some bizzSkill presentation in between. Soft skill classes rather mam’s face can be refresh you after 3 technical classes (as many have 3 technical class and one soft skill class every day). But you will enjoy each and every moment day by day. 

Some suffer which you are going to face!!!

Please note that, It is one of the strict ILP so if you did anything wrong then they will terminate you for some days.

All those who are coming to Trivandrum... Do make sure you have all your docs with you... I mean even have your provisional degree certificate and all other docs. They are kind of strict towards these... so please people do it and if any doubt clarify it...

Be prepared to face these or you will suffer a setback when you will join ILP.

1. If you got even 1 min late, your salary may be deducted for that day.

2. You cannot keep your I-card in your pocket. It has to be hanging around your neck.

3. You cannot carry Pen-drives, CD or any such thing to ILP center but You can use Cell phones and do it switched off during class and other session.

4. If found speaking in other than English, Admin people may sanction any action against you.

5. No G-Mail, Orkut, Facebook, Twitter, Blogs, Matrimony, Trading sites are allowed.

6. You cannot wash or Iron clothes in hostel.

7. You cannot entertain any guest in your room.

May be you did not need these several details however I wished to have read this before coming to Trivandrum for ILP.
