TCS 2015 Batch IT Stream Offered Student: Important Updates

For the attention of students who have been batched to join TCS in the month of May - 2015


1) Choose your stream:- 

Your Aspire module will carry an option choose your preferred stream of technology. The technology streams being offered for students joining in May are :- 

Testing, BIPM, Java, MS.Net, Unix/C++ and Mainframe.

The choice made by you will be considered when mapping you a particular stream. 

Note:- 1) You need make the choice of your stream within 48 hrs. (Wednesday, 15th April - 18:00 hrs)
2) Stream once chosen cannot be changed.
3) If you do not choose a stream then the ILP team will assign your tech streams
4) Making a choice of stream is not a entitlement and the batching team reserves the right to map you any of the stream basis business requirements of TCS irrespective of the choice made.
5) Guys be careful for this. Choose according to your interest. TCS is giving you this opportunity from this time. Till last time, they gave us these domain on randomly basis. So, think before choosing it that have you interest in this domain ? If yes, then lock it and enjoy. 

2) Complete Aspire courses :-

In case you have not completed Aspire course modules, please complete them at the earliest. You will be able to unlock your tech lounge assigned only upon completing all the 7 courses in Aspire. Reset option is not applicable for you. This aspire course would be come in your IRA exam whihc will be held on very first day of your joining.

3) Tech Lounge Courses :-

Commence learning on Tech Lounges and make sure your preparation on Tech Lounges is good. Participate actively in the sessions conducted by the ILP team in Tech Lounges.

Upon joining ILP, you will be taking up the Initial Readiness Tests (1&2) (IRA 1&2) that is based on Aspire & Tech Lounge content. Preparing well on Aspire and Tech Lounge assigned will be key to doing well in IRA.

Students whose performance at IRA tests conducted at ILP at the date of your joining is found to be below the set standards will be asked to leave ILP and their joining will be rescheduled. 

For students who will be batched in the next round of batching cycles

1) Aspire Quiz Access:- We have restored access to Aspire quizzes you can now go ahead and complete the remaining  Aspire courses. 

2) Reset course:- Except the Business Communication course all other courses that you have attempted a single quiz before the deadline enforcement carry the "reset course option",

Please note the manner in which course reset option is to be used:- 

1) Before resetting courses, we recommend that you complete all the course modules in Aspire first.

2) Choose to reset the course where you have scored the lowest in comparison to other courses (where reset is applicable)

3) When you reset a course the following things happen

(i) Your entire attempt history for that course is removed. Miles earned for that course is set to zero, Badges earned for that course is removed.
(ii) You begin the course afresh (taking the course for the very first time).
(iii) The miles earned in a course reset by you will be removed from your overall miles earned.
(iv) Course progression status for that course is set to zero and overall progression made by you also changes.
(v) Course once reset cannot be undone. Be careful.

4) Next Deadline :-

The next deadline for IT Stream Aspire is  08:00 AM, 24th April 2015.

Note:- Congrats to all of you who got joining letter in this batch and rest of all, don't worry, complete your aspire with good marks. All the best to all of you for your whole life.

Hello Friends, An information resource center (IRC) is a facility inside Tata Consultancy Services limited (TCS), staffed by a specialist, containing many information sources. It is established at all ILP center as well as base center for you. So, you don't need to take any books or notes from home with you. They will provide you all relevant books related to new technology as well as your courses.   Many novel will also be there. So, whenever you will get time, go there and study these materials.
