Aspire 2015 FAQs
Hello Friends,
1) What does the ASPIRE module consist of?
ASPIRE is a mandatory online, interactive learning program for the new recruits selected for the IT, IT IS and EIS streams. It serves as a pre-requisite for the Initial Learning Program (ILP).
2) Why do I have to take up the ASPIRE course?
ASPIRE is a mandatory learning program. Through this program, you will be able to know more about TCS. It prepares you for the Initial Learning Program (ILP) that you will undergo after you join TCS by helping you learn the basic concepts of IT.
3) Is learning the ASPIRE course mandatory?
Yes, ASPIRE is a mandatory learning program. The score you obtain in ASPIRE module will be one of the parameters used to decide your TCS joining date and location. Also, you will be mandated to take up PAT (Pre Assessment Test) upon joining ILP. This is based on ASPIRE content to assess your level of preparedness for ILP.
4) How do I begin learning?
Log in to the Campus Commune Portal using your Next Step credentials . Click on the ASPIRE icon on the landing page. The successful completion of the entry quiz in the ASPIRE home page enables you access to the first technical course.
5) I cannot open or view the learning modules in ASPIRE. Should I log in separately to view the courses and begin learning?
You can log in to the Next Step portal and launch Campus Commune.Click on the ASPIRE icon in the landing page. This is a single sign-on portal and there is no separate login to access the ASPIRE learning modules. However, you need to successfully complete a simple quiz in the ASPIRE home page to be able to gain access to the ASPIRE technical courses.
6) How can I begin my learning on Campus Commune?
a. ASPIRE (Technical and KYT modules)
Log in to the Next Step portal and launch Campus Commune.Click on the ASPIRE icon in the landing page. The ASPIRE home page displays.
Before you can begin learning, you will be prompted to take up a simple, interactive quiz on ASPIRE. Click Attend Quiz button to take the ASPIRE quiz.
Successful completion of the ASPIRE Quiz unlocks the first learning module in ASPIRE.
b. Language Lounge (English language modules)
After you log into Campus Commune Portal, click the Language Lounge logo at the bottom middle portion of the screen. The Language Lounge home page displays.
Before you can begin learning, you will be prompted to take up a simple.
On entering all the required information the first learning module in Language Lounge is unlocked.
c. Campus Commune (Collaborative Platform)
After you log into Campus Commune Portal, click the Campus Commune logo at the bottom right portion of the screen. The Campus Commune home page displays.
In campus commune, you can collaborate with your peers and TCS faculty.
7) What is the Honour Code?

It also helps to ensure that your work is recognized and respected by others. The Honour Code you agree to while taking each of the courses has been worded based on the principles and practices that represent your commitment to our standard of academic integrity.
8) Do I need any particular software or devices to be able to complete the ASPIRE modules?
No. A reliable internet connection will ensure that you are able to access are the course resources and watch the associated videos. The portal has been designed such that it works fine with all modern devices (such as smartphones and tablets) and computers. We support the latest versions of the following web browsers:

9) The ASPIRE home page and its features does not display correctly. What should I do?

10) Can I browse and learn the ASPIRE modules using my mobile or tablet, rather than the PC?
Of course, you can. The Aspire module has been designed to work with a majority of screen resolutions and devices. So, you can use the portal from any device, irrespective of the screen size or resolution that it offers.
