My friends, Welcome to CodeVita !!!

Hello friends!!!

www.tcspreparation.com
Let me start by telling you why TCS organizes CodeVita and how you should think about CodeVita. TCS believes in promoting the need of creating a Programming-As-A-Sport culture. Due to technological advancements and due to convergence of computers, mobiles, tablets etc. there's an exponential growth in User Generated Content (UGC). Also, in one sense, the first-wave of IT is kind of over. Enterprises have mostly finished their Billing Systems, Inventory Systems etc. The second wave of IT is going to be governed by phenomenon like Social, Mobile, Analytics and Cloud Computing. The second wave of IT is going to be much more complex than the first wave of IT. For that the bare minimum proficiency is going to be good programming skills.

There's no better way to do things than doing it with group of like-minded individuals, agree? So we at TCS, decided to have CodeVita. Competitions are a great way to bring out the latent talent. Its a stage for a budding artist to showcase his/her talent. So think of CodeVita as a platform on which you can demonstrate your coding talent. In my personal opinion, programming competitions are a great leveller. Just like in marathon, all one needs to do is run; people of all ages irrespective of their physique can participate and enjoy the run. Similarly, in coding competition such as CodeVita, the common theme connecting all is the ability to write beautiful code. As long as you can code and provide solutions to the posed problems you will do just fine. It does not matter what stream you belong to in your formal education systems. CodeVita is NOT for just IT folks. Student from any educational background with exposure to computer programming can participate. Confidence is the key ingredient.

Some of you have asked on forums on how to prepare for CodeVita. In response to that, we will shortly release a few questions asked in previous seasons of CodeVita. That should give you a fair idea about the type of questions and the difficulty level of questions asked in CodeVita.

Besides this, as you already know, you are allowed to write code in 7 languages. One can attempt a given problem in any language. For e.g. I can attempt a problem in C. If I feel later that this is best done in Java instead of C, I can make my next submission in Java instead of C. Thus you can use any language to even solve a particular problem. There is no upper limit on number of submissions as well. So make a submission when you feel your solution is right.

This blog will be followed by things you should do at your end to be well-prepared for the event.

I hope, I have given you a glimpse of things to come in CodeVita 2014. So put your best code forward and win exciting prizes.
!!! All the Best and Happy Learning !!!
